The Benefits of Goalball on Balance and Locomotor’s skills in Individuals with Visual Impairments: Scoping Review

چکیده مقاله
It is known that the level of physical development of individuals with visual impairments lags far behind individuals with typical vision. The aim of the paper is to analyze the benefits of Goalball, a sport for people with VI on balance and locomotors skills in individuals with visual impairments through scoping Review.
Analyzing data in this project was done by synthetic scan. Methodology was based on gathering, classifying and summarizing data in researches about Goalball, Balance, Locomotors skills, and Independence in Individuals with Visual Impairments in years between 2015 and 2024 in articles found on databases such as: Eric, Ebsco, Google Scholar, Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed, Magiran, SID, Ensani, Irandoc, Noormags with searching keywords such as: goalball, balance, locomotors skills and independence in individuals with visual impairments. In the initial search, 30 articles were selected, and then 12 articles with the title goalball, motor skills and balance in people with visual impairments were selected.
Goalball enhances balance and motor skills by strengthening the vestibular system, motor coordination, spatial awareness, and quick reactions. Additionally.
Goalball, as a comprehensive rehabilitation tool, enhances the physical and psychological independence of individuals with visual impairments by improving balance, motor skills, and auditory abilities. This sport also promotes social skills, reduces stress, and strengthens the vestibular and proprioceptive systems, thereby improving their quality of life.
